Stats, growth & meditation
Six stats shape most rolls; meditation is how the hero rests and grows.
Your hero's six stats are Strength, Dexterity, Vitality, Intelligence, Spirit, and Charisma.
Every resolved action banks experience; you spend it during meditate. Three
meditation forms are judged by the game's AI, and you can run that judge right here. Write a
mantra that genuinely deepens a stat's domain and it scores high; eloquence that drifts into
another stat scores low.
A mantra squarely in Strength's domain.
A focused evolution of physical power: lifting, breaking, overwhelming force.
Deepens the prior 'strong arms' insight into decisive, finishing force.
Show insight into how a skill evolves to unlock its next tier.
Captures the shift from a temporary patch to a true structural weave, the right axis of evolution.
Aligns with the canonical Tier 2 'Steady Weave' technique.
A heartfelt reason to come back justifies revival.
A concrete, character-rooted oath drives the return; sincere within the fiction.
The other three forms are deterministic
Rest, level-up, and world-forging don't ask the AI to judge anything. Here's exactly what they do:
meditate rest Rest Restores a chunk of HP, stamina, and mana (up to half of each). Costs no experience and always works: the dedicated recovery valve.
meditate levelup Level up Spends a banked level point once you have earned one (every ten stat points). May unlock new verbs, strengthen rolls, or open narrative doors.
meditate world ! <vision> Forge a world Only after you land the killing blow on a frontier-world boss. Describe the world you want to forge (its place, mood, and how it is harsher than the last), and a new tier unfurls beyond the frontier.
Objectives & rewards
The narrator hands your hero goals; completing one pays off in lasting growth.
As the story unfolds, the narrator sets your hero objectives: defeat a particular foe, reach a place, use a specific item on something. Take the matching action, succeed the roll, and the reward is yours. Every completed objective pays out one of three lasting rewards:
- An inventory slot. +1 to how many things your hero can carry (you start at 30). Permanent.
- A stat-growth rebate. Refunds one point of this level's stat budget (ten per level), letting you raise one extra permanent stat point before you level up.
- A mantra reset (rare). Resets one stat's meditation mantra to its beginner form, so deepening that stat is cheap again.
The narrator improvises the goal, but the payoff is real, permanent power.
